This recipe is a twist on a classic steak dinner. The Angus rump is cooked to perfection and served with a creamy horseradish sauce for an extra kick of flavor. The horseradish sauce is also great on potatoes or roasted vegetables. This recipe serves four people.
Ingredients:
- 1.5 kg Angus Rump Steak
- 2 tablespoons of olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons of butter
- 2 tablespoons of horseradish cream
- 2 tablespoons of sour cream
- 2 tablespoons of white wine
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 200°C.
- Heat the olive oil in a large oven-proof skillet over medium-high heat.
- Season the Angus rump steak with salt and pepper and add to the hot skillet.
- Sear the steak on both sides until golden brown, about 2 minutes per side.
- Add the garlic and butter to the skillet and cook for 1 minute.
- Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 12 minutes for medium-rare, or until desired doneness is reached.
- Remove the steak from the oven and let rest for 5 minutes.
- Meanwhile, in a small saucepan, heat the horseradish cream, sour cream, and white wine until warm.
- Slice the steak against the grain and serve with the creamy horseradish sauce.
